I’m Wan Visu, better known as Spider.Money— creative artist, illustrator, author, and designer.
Born in Bangkok, Thailand, I taught myself to draw as a way to stay occupied after school. I quickly became fixated on drawing, and with encouragement from my mother and teachers, decided to focus on turning my hobby into a serious craft.
I continued drawing while I attended high school in the United States, and returned to Bangkok to earn my degree in Decorative Arts from Silpakorn University. By 2016 I had gained upwards of 40,000 followers on Instagram, where I shared my process and works-in-progress (though I haven’t remained as engaged with social media since the pandemic).
I now hold a Master’s Degree in Strategic Design from SRH Berlin, and have had my work published as cover and interior illustrations for 9 books.
In 2019 Schiffer Publishing approached me with an offer to publish an original art instruc- tion book about my art style, and later that year, ‘Dot Drawing: A Fusion of Stippling and Ornament was in print.
Beyond illustration I’ve gained real-world experience in a diverse spectrum of design dis- ciplines—from fashion design to branding & UI/UX—but putting pen to paper (or pencil to screen) is where I’m at my most creative, engaged, and at peace.
